Impact Award
for Global Health Science
The Impact Award for Global Health Science funds researchers who work in partnership with, and in close physical proximity to, highly vulnerable health care systems and the communities they serve. Contrary to traditional funding mechanisms that prioritize interpretability over complexity and publication rates over innovation, the Impact Award for Global Health Science rewards curiosity and experimentation. Unrestricted funding from HFF for a 5-year time period allows the researcher to adapt to the ever-changing political, economic, and environmental circumstances that impact health systems. Furthermore, it promotes innovative and exploratory research that has the potential to transform global health science methods. The ultimate goal is a research program designed to have a direct and lasting impact on the communities it studies.
